I am completely enamored with the city of Buenos Aires. Is there a word for loving something, finding it beautiful and completely unique, just for being what it is?

Buenos Aires Travel Tips

Things to Know

  1. At the airport: Try not to take the taxis outside. You likely will get ripped off. Use Ubers or before you leave the airport there are a few taxi stands use them.

  2. Tipping: 10% is good! However you must have cash on you. There is no way to add it once your card is swiped.

  3. Public Transport: Completely safe and efficient. The buses are used all the time. You must have a “Sub Card” which you can find and fill up with money. It is used for the subway and buses. (an average bud/subway ride is $17 Argentina Pesos)

  4. Buses: when you get on the bus, tell the driver where you are going. Then he will charge you the right amount when you scan your sub card.

  5. Taxis: Ubers are very inexpensive in BA. There is a competing company to use with more supply called “Cabify”. We’d recommend downloading their app before you get to BA and use them. Also, regular taxis are no problem just make sure they use the meter when you get in and if they don’t ask them to.

  6. Have cash on you: When you want to buy little things which are not expensive they won’t want to take card.
