Paris Travel Tips
Tips:
Transportation: The buses and subways are great! Use them! A Ticket cost 1.90 Euros. (Note: if you've already used a single ticket in the metro, you can't transfer to the bus. You can, however, transfer between two buses without extra cost providing you do so within 90 minutes of boarding the first)
Dress Code: Parisians tend to be chic but also very relaxed. Flip flops are not super common for men in Paris.
Tipping: Tipping is included in Paris. If the service was great, feel free to leave a few extra euros cash on the table. At a coffee shop, always just round up your bill to the nearest euro.
Water: It is safe to drink! (Tip: If you want to pay for water in restaurants, be our guest. However, if you are fine with free tap water and be a local ask for “une carafe d'eau”
Electrical Outlets: They use the same as many European countries (type C and H. The standard voltage is 230 V)
Language: French! Many millennials speak some English but don’t assume. If you assume and speak English, it is very annoying to a french person. Start with “Bonjour” and your accent will clearly give you away. They’s appreciate that you are trying to speak french and give you 10 X better service.
