Best Restaurants in Buenos Aires
Argentine’s have the most different ways of eating that we’ve ever experienced:
Breakfast: Most do not have breakfast (brunch is not a thing). Most will grab a coffee and pastry and be on their way
Lunch: Usually is eaten very late. Around 2-3PM is the norm.
Dinner: 9PM is the absolute earliest (restaurants don’t even open before 8/8.30). Usually it is closer to 9.30/10PM. You will see all the restaurants are usually busy with all the tourists between 8-10 and then all the locals come for their dinner.
Best Cafe’s in Buenos Aires (breakfast & afternoon coffee)
Padre Coffee Roasters: We loved this place and kept coming back. The coffee is great and the vibe is fun! They are very laptop friendly and we worked from here quite a bit.
Libros Del Pasaje: This is a gem of a place and a must visit in general. It is a beautiful bookstore with a cafe in the back. They have a greenhouse type seating surrounded by books. Very laptop friendly again,
Malvon: A very cute cafe to come to either for breakfast, brunch or afternoon coffee. Adorable with an outside patio as well. We usually would come later afternoon and then stay for a cocktail after
La Poesía: Great little local joint in San Telmo. San Telmo can be quite touristy and this little cafe is a nice escape.
LAB New American Cuisine & Coffee Shop: Cute coffee shop with comfy seats. You can work here a bit or just enjoy your coffee and pastry
Rapa Nui: We came here at least 8 times during our stay, It is maybe the cutest shop in all of Buenos Aires. This location specifically. It is a chocolate store/Ice Cream Store which specialized in Chocolate. They are open until 1AM and the best time to go is after dinner for desert. Sit outside in their patio and enjoy the beauty of this place.
Best Restaurants in Buenos Aires: Lunch
Sans Armenia Deli & Drinks: This is a cute spot for lunch or dinner (we did both)! You come here for their Aperol spritz or liters of beer and their burgers/sandwiches. Their fried potatoes were also delicious! Grab a table outside you’ll love it.
Desnivel: This is a parilla restaurant but we recommend going in and not sitting down. Rather go to the front and say you want a choripan to go. They will grill it right there in front of you! Take this absolutely amazing sandwich and eat it on the go/find a bench nearby and savor this goodness!
A Manger: Come here for meat/cheese plates, antipasti and wine! A great local italian store and cafe.
Burger Joint: The best burgers we had in Buenos Aires. Very casual place their fries are also delicious. Make sure to get the curry ketchup sauce on the side for your fries.
Chori: A restaurant which specializes in the Chori Pans. Add some Chimichurri and you’ve got yourself a lunch!
Buenos Aires Verde: Super cute and very delicious 100% vegetarian restaurant (which you can imagine does not come often in Argentina). The food is refined and the place is super cute!
Best Restaurants in Buenos Aires: Dinner
La Brigada: Our first “parilla” in Buenos Aires and truly the most delicious we had all trip. We got a skirt steak which they cut with a spoon it was so tender, the chorizo and a “provoletta” all delicous!
Casa Barro : Our favourite dinner spot in Buenos. The food was delicous and the atmosphere is super cozy. A great dinner and nice bottle of wine made date night perfect!
El Preferido de Palermo: Very trendy place with great food. Sit at the bar, order drinks and keep ordering food slowly so you get to stay there a while.
Saigon: We loved Siagon. It is right next to the San Telmo Market. The food is delicious and the vibe is fun and young. If you are a bit over all the steak and red meat you’ve been eating, come here for a treat. Then head to Nilson for a fun wine bar after dinner
Sans Armenia Deli & Drinks: This is a cute spot for lunch or dinner (we did both)! You come here for their Aperol spritz or liters of beer and their burgers/sandwiches. Their fried potatoes were also delicious! Grab a table outside you’ll love it.
Benaim: A little Mediterranean joint which is very casual. Their food is delicous and this fries are to die for. Make sure to get all their sauces (garlic aoli and curry ketchup) from the stand before you sit down with your food.
